Bagatelle Trier

The food was really very tasty and creative. Unfortunately, one course was very over-seasoned for my taste. Since the restaurant only had three tables and six guests, the service in the restaurant consisted of 50% of the people. Through the whispering of the staff, the strange silence, sometimes. With restrained laughter from the employees, I didn't find the atmosphere relaxed. It's not a place I would visit again, even though the food was overall very good. The feel-good character is just as important to me. For me it lacked charm.

My husband took me there for dinner last night for my birthday. We often go to very fine restaurants and have also been to different star restaurants several times. To eat: Choice between 5-7 courses in the menu possible. We had 7 courses. Changes cost an additional €10. This is where my first point of criticism comes from. My husband and I don't like eating artichokes. We were then informed that there was no alternative to the artichoke. But I have to say that the artichoke in yesterday's preparation was good for us to eat. However, 1/2 point deducted because no alternative was possible for this price and star category. Otherwise the food was a pleasure. Of course there were things that weren't 100% to my taste, but even in a restaurant like this it's all a matter of taste. The food is beautifully presented Very beautiful and detailed with love and a lot of effort. Respect to the kitchen. The food is in the direction of upscale French cuisine but modern and sometimes with other influences. Timing perfect for us. Nice and slow and not too quickly so that you can really enjoy the food and also have time for it to slide around to make room for the next course. This is simply a must for a kitchen like this. So bring your time. I would say between 3-5 hours. We were there for over 5 hours, which is normal for us in this area because we enjoy and celebrate. We then eat very slowly and occasionally ask for a break of 20-30 minutes, which was responded to in a friendly manner 🙏 What stood out for me were: -the greetings from the kitchen... indescribably good. - Tuna Caesar salade: the quality and interplay of textures and flavors indescribable. The tuna almost melted in your mouth - the zander... the same as with the tuna... indescribably good in combination - the dessert was the mega crowning finale. Again, the interplay of texture and taste... simply bomb About the drinks: Wine accompaniment is possible and really recommended for those who like to drink wine with their meal. Very select wines that go perfectly with the food and are explained in detail by the sommelier with nice little details. Great work from the sommelier. And also responds to requests in a friendly manner (my husband didn't want any red wines, for example) The 2nd small deduction for coffee. My husband only drinks decaf and he ran out last night. Logistical problem before the weekend would have to be checked to make sure there was enough of everything in stock. It just doesn't fit into this price and star category. Ambience: It's okay. Can't find any other words for this. Chairs are very comfortable and the bench is also comfortable. However, the room seems somehow naked and cold. It's difficult to describe. It's more the atmosphere and mood in the room. The room is classically furnished with tables etc. but seems somehow cool. Maybe as a little tip it would be good to go through an interior design and see if you can add warmer accents with a few more pictures, mirrors or decorations so that a warmer and more comfortable feeling in the room is created. Once the light went out, creating a wonderfully romantic atmosphere due to the many candles 😁🫣 But this lighting is not so conducive to the beautiful presentation of the food 🙈 Service: Extremely friendly and open. Very young team but competent, especially the sommelier did a great job. But what I was personally very happy about... despite the star, the service wasn't "stiff", cold or so arrogant/conceited. That's what happens sometimes in this category. But that wasn't the case here at all. Really down to earth and friendly 😁🙏 We would love to come back again. Is highly recommended, especially for a special occasion or if you want to treat yourself to a really good meal here in the Trier region.

Great restaurant on the Moselle. The small restaurant is stylish and simply furnished. There is a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. The 7-course menu is well thought out and reads very nicely. The tartare was outstanding as part of the first greeting from the kitchen. The individual courses were of different strengths. Absolute highlights were the scallop, liver and veal head ravioli. The other courses deliver at a high level and impress with surprising tastes that are great fun. The serving style is simple and modern, but very pretty and elegant. Only for two courses is there still some room for improvement in the plate design (if you want to find a mistake). The staff was very friendly and attentive, the house sommelier is competent and offers excellent wine accompaniment in close coordination with the food served. He is also a competent contact when serving the excellent selection of cheeses. The menu is absolutely convincing in terms of taste and offers brilliant culinary moments. Little things stand out, but they don't bother you. The chef does an excellent job. The price for the menu and wine pairing is reasonable. We'd love to come back! 5/5
